Montreal, June 22, 2022 – Makila AI is delighted with the success of its cutting-edge technology based on artificial intelligence (AI). More than 130 companies have been connected to it since the recent launch of its solution for the healthcare sector. Through collaborative research projects with academia and research centers such as the Computer Science Research Center of Montreal (CRIM), Makila AI has succeeded in developing a state-of-the-art solution for data processing, simulation, and predictive analytics in the fields of human resources and finance.

Makila AI supports and accompanies companies that want to increase their digital productivity and enhance their strategic data. Thanks to the collaborative network we have built with research centres recognized for their excellence, our ability to innovate allows us to design high-performance solutions that exploit the many possibilities generated by recent research in artificial intelligence. Layla Nasr, CEO of Makila AI, points out.

The development of this solution, adapted to the health sector, was made possible thanks to the financial support of Prompt and the Quebec Ministry of Economy and Innovation (MEI) and the valuable contribution of CRIM and its centre of excellence in artificial intelligence.

“CRIM’s strength lies in its ability to take into account all aspects of a project during its implementation. Our applied research activities focus on data science, software architecture and its integration, data security, ethics and best practices in artificial intelligence. By combining our research strength with Makila AI’s expertise in data analysis, it was possible to develop a solution that accelerates the competitiveness of finance teams,” said Françoys Labonté, President and CEO of CRIM.

A solution adapted to the healthcare sector

Makila AI’s solution manages the life cycle of HR and finance data in companies by increasing the accuracy of analyses with data extracted from business documents thanks to artificial intelligence. The solution also includes a specialized function for processing financial data and business documents specific to the healthcare sector.

“Care Pharmacies is Canada’s largest independent pharmacy group, managed by pharmacists and employs more than 700 people in its 70 locations. The group intends to increase its presence through strategic acquisitions and the adoption of measures to promote organic growth. Care’s priority is to optimize the customer experience by providing exceptional products and services in all communities. Acquiring, training and supporting the growth of staff within the organisation is key to Care’s success and the engagement of its staff. Makila AI’s solution has allowed us to move up a gear and, above all, to complete a technological shift that is essential to ensure strategic planning based on reliable data,” says Ali Abid, Chief Financial Officer of Care Pharmacies.

Makila AI’s solution makes it possible to exploit data in order to enable the efficient reconciliation of bank statements, the rapid generation of accounting entries and the consolidation of financial reports dedicated to the health sector. With the power of integrated analytics of strategic financial data, a CFO and their teams are able to fully embrace their roles in monitoring, evaluating, and improving their organization’s performance.

“Thanks to Makila AI’s solution, a large network of pharmacy franchisees in Quebec is now able to develop financial analyses and budgets independently, but which can be immediately taken into account on a consolidated basis. For us, it is essential to offer our pharmacy managers the best technological tools that allow them to manage their establishment independently while contributing to the proper management of this network,” explains Yves Labranche, CPA auditor, Partner LTDL.
