A Franco-Canadian Dialogue at the Summit for Action on AI!

From 6 to 11 February, France hosted a week of strategic exchanges on artificial intelligence, bringing together experts, researchers and decision-makers from both sides of the Atlantic. A look back at the key moments of a memorable week, where the Makila AI team had the opportunity to take part in discussions on the future of AI:

– On February 9, at a reception at the Embassy of Canada in France | Ambassade du Canada en France, we had the honour of speaking with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau and Mona Nemer, Canada’s Chief Science Advisor. It was a key moment to discuss new prospects for collaboration between France and Canada on key digital and AI topics. Thank you to the Honourable Stéphane Dion, Ambassador of Canada to France for the warm welcome and for facilitating exchanges that were as rich as they were inspiring.

– The day of February 10 at the Grand Palais was marked by exchanges on the major challenges of global governance of artificial intelligence. The discussions also highlighted the transformative potential of AI in key areas of health and education.

– On February 11 at the STATION F, a conference brought together JULIEN BILLOT, CEO of SCALE AI | Canada’s AI Global Innovation Cluster, Pape Wade M. Sc., CEO of Airudi, Rogayeh Tabrizi, PhD, CEO of Theory+Practice and Layla Nasr, CEO of Makila AI for an exchange on the advances, use cases and challenges of artificial intelligence in Canada. We also had the opportunity to meet with several key players in the Quebec ecosystem, including the Conseil de l’innovation du Québec (CIQ), represented by Anne Nguyen, LSSBB, Director responsible for AI, who shared with us his vision of responsible and ethical AI, as well as the business opportunities that result from it.

A big thank you to Thierry Weissenburger, Clément Thiébault, Trade Commissioners at the Embassy of Canada in France, as well as Mamoun Cheddadi, Senior Invest Associate at Business France, for making this participation possible!
